When you start acting like a champion, it changes everything. But you have to start πͺπ»
So here we are at the end of month 4, and I'm finally writing this blog! I can't believe how quickly time has flown by—it feels like it was just a couple of weeks ago that I launched talentX.
This month has been kind of crazy—I'm running around like a mad woman most days, but I'm also more focused and motivated than ever before. I feel like we're really starting to make real progress at talentX, it's been a whirlwind of an adventure so far but one thing is for sure; the journey has only just begun!.
I can say with confidence that this is what life is all about; taking risks and putting yourself out there to make something happen. When you start something new, especially something that is so close to your heart, you will feel scared, anxious and uncertain at times. But if you don't take these risks then how will you ever know what could have been?
At talentX, we're all about excellence π₯
I'm a big believer in the idea that we can always get better. Excellence is a moving target and we’re working hard to get to where we want to be. That means more than just putting in the hours, it’s about living and breathing the behaviours and habits of a champion every day. It's about committing to everything you have to the process, and seeing how everything else falls into place when you do that.
We know that sounds a little intimidating—but it doesn't have to be! Striving for perfection is really just about starting: starting here, with yourself, in this moment. Just like any champion who's ever accomplished something great, it starts with a commitment to excellence… every moment of every day. It's about committing to trying your best at everything you do—and then doing it again the next day. And then again the day after that.
When you start acting like a champion, it changes everything. But you have to start πͺπ» ππ» π₯³
At talentX, we believe that every moment is an opportunity to chase excellence and become a champion. That's why we're working hard to get our clients to their full potential—we want them to be the best versions of themselves, and we believe that by helping them achieve their goals, we'll all be better off for it.
We're not just talking about getting more work done faster—we're talking about building something better, whether it's a service or an experience for our customers. We want to make sure that everything we do is the best it can be, and that means constantly evaluating how we do things and looking for ways to improve them.
That's why I want to talk about what worked well at talentX last month, what we improved on, what we have learned, and what we will do differently next month.
1οΈβ£ What worked well? Our talentX community is growing and we onboarded our first Global Tech Talent Partner into one of our clients in Dubai.
We’re excited to have them onboard as this allows us to provide an even better service to our clients by giving them access to a superstar tech recruiter who can help them fill their open positions.
2οΈβ£ What have we improved on?
We reviewed how we communicate with all of our clients and made improvements to our communication channels so that we can all stay in the loop and be able to collaborate more effectively!
We also held our first talentX Scrum Meeting, this is an opportunity for us all to check in on a weekly basis about what's happening with our projects and how they are going/any challenges we are facing. This helps us to make sure that we're always learning and helps with any sprint planning necessary for getting our projects done quickly and efficiently!
3οΈβ£ What have we learned? Every founder, leader, and CEO is different.
Yes, they have a lot in common: they're all responsible for the success of their company and their team, and they're all racing against the clock to make sure that every employee is working hard and making progress. But every founder is an individual with his or her own strengths and weaknesses—and when it comes to building a team that works together to grow your business, you need to be able to see those differences clearly.
We've worked with founders & leaders who are extroverts who thrive on the energy created by groups of people around them; we've worked with introverts who prefer one-on-one conversations over group meetings; we've worked with people who need constant feedback on their work habits so they can improve them; we've worked with people who need guidance before they start working on a new project.
But no matter what kind of leader you are, there's one thing that all leaders need: support. You don't have time for a lot of hand-holding or micromanaging—you need someone who understands where you're coming from and can help you overcome obstacles without slowing down your workflow.
4οΈβ£ What will we do differently next month? We are excited to announce that we are expanding our leadership 1:1 sessions with our clients.
Starting next month, we will be conducting weekly 1:1 sessions with our clients to listen to them and support them with any challenges they are facing. This is an important step in making sure that we're providing the best possible experience for everyone who uses talentX. talentX's mission is to help you achieve your potential and understand that excellence is within reach.
π§ Excellence is a state of mind. It's a constant pursuit of improvement, of betterment.
What are you doing right now to be excellent? π€©
You're ready for greatness. We know it, and we want to help you get there! β€οΈ π
πͺπ» But you have to start somewhere. And if you're ready now, here are some things we think will help you to reach excellence:
1) Tackle one thing at a time - focus on what matters most right now, then move on once it's done (and celebrate π₯³)
2) Learn from others who've done this before - find people who inspire you and seek out their advice or mentorship
3) Try something new everyday
4) Listen to those around you and take feedback
Your job is hard. We get that. We're here to make it easier π

My personal goals for next month:
So I feel like I’ve finally cracked my swimming but I’ve neglected my running! I ran 3km in a race last week and boy was it a struggle (although it didn’t help that I was running in a wet swimming costume after doing my first open water swim) π ππ» π²ππΌ
